We were but mere dancers,
The universe — our stage;
Two lone wanderers,
Who'd given up on daily wage.
We looked for some comfort,
A 'he', a 'she'; a 'we',
A shoulder to cry on when we're hurt,
Someone around whom, we could just be.
And just when we least expected it,
We met each other and fell in love
Everything fell in place, bit by bit,
It was, as if, a gift from above I found solace;
Entwined in his gentle arms,
In my own gentle pace,
Got freed from the worldly harms.
For we were but mere dancers,
The universe — our stage;
Two lone wanderers,
Who'd given up on daily wage.
