Dear me,
In about 7-8 months, you’ll be going off to college. I know how difficult life is right now. You have more on your plate than you can handle. You doubt you’re not doing enough. You are ridden with anxiety over not having it all figured out. But I want you to take a minute and breathe.
Every day you think about how you can escape this. You need to understand, There's no way out of this labyrinth. Everyone keeps saying you only need to work hard the last few years in school & then live the rest of your life with ease. But that is farthest from the truth. As long as you live, you have a future. And the best way to predict the future is to create it. Hard work, perseverance & dedication will have to be permanent additions to your close knit friend group. But, this does not mean you let go of happiness. You’re 18. Statistically, you still have about 52 years ahead of you. You cannot possibly have it all figured out. Focus on one day at a time. Make short term plans. Live every moment of your life to the fullest so you never have to look back and regret letting half your life suffocate under the load of a successful future. Don’t let the fear of the what lays ahead destroy your present. Just breathe and make each day your masterpiece.
